Window Cleaning in Delaware

Heavy spring pollen coats glass faster than most homeowners expect, and properties across Delaware near the coast deal with salt film and environmental buildup on top of it. Windows in high-exposure areas can go from clean to visibly dirty within weeks of a seasonal peak. Twice-annual cleaning is the realistic cadence for most Delaware homes: once after the spring pollen clears, and once in the fall before the winter season sets in. The difference between a real clean and a surface wipe-down comes down to how the job is done.
At Ortiz Pro Wash, we clean windows the old-fashioned way with a traditional squeegee, hand-detailing, and buffing for a streak-free result. Interior and exterior are handled in the same visit by a crew that splits into inside and outside teams so the whole job is finished in one pass.
Call us at (302) 228-6599 for a free written estimate. We will assess the window count, the types, and any hard water or post-construction concerns so you know what the job involves before any work begins.

The squeegee-and-buff process adapts to each window type. Most are straightforward; a few require extra time and care. The crew handles all of the types listed below as part of a standard residential window cleaning job.

Standard residential windows with one operable sash and one fixed. Single hung windows are among the most common across Delaware homes. Cleaned inside and out with the traditional squeegee method, and tracks and sills wiped down.

Both sashes are operable, which is common in Delaware homes. Full access to both sashes allows thorough cleaning of the glass and the full frame area on each side of the window.

An additional glazing layer that sits in front of the primary window. The exterior face is cleaned; interior access depends on whether the storm panel is removable.

Multiple small glass panes divided by muntins. Each pane is cleaned individually, and detailing around the dividers takes more time than standard windows.

Sliding glass doors, French doors, and patio doors. Cleaned inside and out with tracks cleaned as part of the standard process.

Handled with extra time and a gentler approach. Chemistry and pressure are kept light to protect the glass and leading.

All screens are removed before cleaning begins so the crew has full access to the glass surface on both sides. Without removing the screens first, the exterior glass cannot be cleaned properly and the result on that side of the window will always be compromised.
Screens are soft-washed individually, not just wiped down, and inspected during the process. If a screen is severely corroded or at risk of damage during removal, it is flagged to you for a go/no-go decision before the crew proceeds. You make the call, not the crew. All screens are reinstalled at job completion.

A window cleaning job is only as good as the method behind it and the crew doing the work. Here is what sets ours apart.

We clean windows the old-fashioned way. Squeegee, detail, buff. No water-fed shortcuts that leave water spots. Every window is cleaned by hand for a streak-free result.

An interior team and an exterior team work simultaneously so the whole job is done in a single visit. Tracks and sills are wiped down on every window as part of the standard process.

We flag cracked or broken windows before we start so you know exactly what condition every window is in before any cleaning begins. The pre-job walkthrough covers every window, and you are informed of any findings before the crew proceeds.

We provide a full Material Safety Data Sheet so you know exactly what we are using on your home. No guesswork, no surprises.

We carry full insurance on every window cleaning job, so your home and property are covered from the moment we arrive. Proof of coverage is available on request.

We are a locally owned and operated business based right here in Delaware. When you call, you are talking to the people who show up and do the work.

Contact us by phone or email with your project. We assess the number of windows, the window types, whether interior cleaning is included, and any hard water stain concerns. If some windows are antique, leaded glass, or French pane, the estimate accounts for the additional time those require. Post-construction cleaning is flagged at this stage if applicable, since heavier debris and construction residue are factored into the estimate. You receive a written estimate with no obligation.
The job is scheduled at a time that minimizes disruption. The crew prefers when the home is least occupied for inside/outside simultaneous work. A minimum 2 to 3 person crew arrives: one team manages interior, one manages exterior, and a third handles ladder safety for high windows where needed. The multi-person crew is what allows the inside and outside to be cleaned at the same time rather than making two separate passes through the house.
All screens are removed before cleaning begins, giving full access to the glass surface on both sides. Screens are inspected during removal for corrosion, tears, or damage. Any screens in poor condition are brought to your attention before the crew moves forward.
Every exterior window is cleaned by hand using the traditional squeegee method. The squeegee passes across the glass, removing the cleaning solution and contaminants in one controlled stroke. Each window is then buffed for a streak-free finish. Ladders and safety equipment are used for high windows, and the crew works systematically around the exterior of the house. If the gutters need clearing as well, it is efficient to handle that while the ladders are already up.
The interior team cleans every window from inside simultaneously with the exterior crew. Each window is squeegeed, detailed, and buffed using the same hand method used on the exterior. Tracks, sills, and frame edges are cleaned throughout. Any hard water spots are noted during this step for the homeownerโs approval before treatment proceeds.
If significant hard water staining is present, you are notified and must approve before the crew proceeds. Hard water stain removal is an add-on priced per affected window and is never assumed or applied without your approval. The treatment targets mineral deposits and environmental haze that standard squeegee cleaning alone cannot remove.
All screens are soft-washed and inspected, then reinstalled at job completion.
A final walkthrough confirms you are satisfied with the results. If any window needs a touch-up, the crew addresses it before packing up. Payment is collected on the spot if you are present, or we send an invoice at net 15 or net 30. We accept cash, credit card, check, Zelle, Venmo, and PayPal.

Most Delaware homes run between $500 and $1,000 or more for a full interior and exterior window clean, depending on the number of windows and their type. The per-window rate keeps the quote transparent, and the estimate visit gives us an accurate count so the number reflects your specific home.
~$18 per window as the base rate, with interior and exterior both included.
$500 to $1,000+ is the typical range for a full home depending on window count and type.
French pane and antique/leaded glass windows take more time per unit and are factored into the estimate accordingly.
Hard water stain removal is available as an add-on, priced per affected window. Ask at the estimate so we can assess the staining and give you an accurate number.
Post-construction window cleaning follows the same base rate with additional time factored in for construction residue. Heavier debris, paint overspray, and construction dust require extra treatment that is discussed and quoted at the estimate stage.
We offer a military and veteran discount of up to 15% off as our way of saying thank you for your service.
If you are scheduling window cleaning alongside a house wash or another service visit, ask about bundling at the estimate. With the crew already on-site, combined jobs are priced accordingly.

We stand behind every window cleaning job. If you are not happy with the results, reach out and we will come back to make it right. Our first priority is getting the job to where it should be, and if a return visit still does not get you there, we work with you on a partial refund. The crew applies the full documented process on every job, and the same satisfaction commitment follows every clean we do.

We clean windows the old-fashioned way. Squeegee, detail, buff. No water-fed shortcuts that leave water spots. We tried water-fed pole systems and found the results unsatisfactory. Water spots and residue were left on the glass, and the traditional hand method produces a cleaner, streak-free finish every time.
Yes. Interior and exterior are both included in a full window clean. The crew splits into an inside team and an outside team so both sides are handled in the same visit without doubling the time on-site.
White spots and haze on glass are typically caused by hard water mineral deposits or environmental buildup, both common near Delawareโs coastal and well-water areas. Standard window cleaning alone will not remove significant hard water staining; it requires a dedicated treatment. Hard water stain removal is available as an add-on, priced per affected window. Ask at the estimate so we can assess the staining.
We flag cracked or broken windows during the pre-job walkthrough and let you know what we find before any cleaning begins. Cracked or broken windows are not cleaned so the homeowner is never in a position where damage is attributed to the crew.
Screens in poor condition are identified during removal and brought to your attention before the crew moves forward. You decide whether to proceed with removal or leave that screen in place. The crew does not force a corroded screen out without your knowledge.
Typically 4 to 6 months depending on the time of year, proximity to the coast, and pollen levels. Homes near the water or in high-pollen areas may need cleaning twice a year to maintain results. Beach-area homes with salt air exposure and homes surrounded by heavy tree coverage will be at the shorter end of that range. Those same shaded, tree-heavy lots tend to develop roof algae too, so a roof soft wash is often worth scheduling around the same time.
After Delawareโs spring pollen season is the best timing. Pollen is the heaviest annual fouling event for windows in the state, and cleaning before it peaks means the windows are dirty again within days. Twice annually is the recommended cadence for most Delaware homes: once after spring pollen, once in fall. Coastal homes may benefit from an additional mid-year clean.
Not required, but the crew prefers to schedule when the home is least occupied to minimize disruption during inside/outside simultaneous work. If you will not be home, interior access arrangements should be discussed when scheduling.
A minimum of 2 to 3 crew members on every window cleaning job. One team manages interior, one manages exterior, and a third handles ladder safety for high windows where needed. The multi-person crew is what allows inside and outside to be cleaned simultaneously in a single visit.
Yes. Construction leaves heavier debris, paint overspray, and construction residue on glass that requires additional time and treatment beyond a standard clean. Any pre-construction damage to windows (scratches, chips, cracks) is documented during the walkthrough and communicated to you before the crew proceeds. Pricing follows the standard per-window rate with additional time factored in for construction residue.

Whether your windows are coated in spring pollen, spotted with hard water staining, or simply overdue for a thorough inside-and-out clean, the estimate is free and there is no obligation. We will count the windows, assess the types, and put together a written quote based on what your home actually needs. Call us at (302) 228-6599 to schedule your on-site visit.
